The “Yo-Yo Syndrome” might be in effect in 2015. January was down, February back up, and March was down. The stock exchanges had a lot of big swing days. The DJIA was up 100 or more points on 8 trading days, and there were 7 down days. The biggest swing was a loss of 333 points on March 10. US economic growth and stability continues to be tepid and fragile as demonstrated by jobs related data. Rumors on when the Federal Reserve Board will raise interest rates seems to cause some of the up and downs. The Global economy has been somewhat shaky as well. Nevertheless, as shown in the tables below, there are some excellent results coming out of the stock market games.
Let’s see if April 2015 continues the “YoYo Syndrome” trend.
In the following tables the stock price is for the close of trading on March 31st, Month % Chg is compared to February 27th, YTD % Chg is compared to December 31, 2014, and the 15 Mos % Chg is compared to December 31, 2013.
