February 2017: Investors Continue To Ride The Bull
By Larry C. Paxton
With a new US President in the White House initiating some controversial major changes and legislation, and issuing executive orders that rip apart previous administration policies, it would make sense that the stock market, which prefers not rocking the boat, would show some volatility. Surprisingly, the Stock Market Bulls continued to run ahead of the pack each day with all 3 major US stock exchanges staying pretty much between the + & – 0.50% during the month, and finishing ahead quite comfortably year-to-date.
Maybe that’s because at the same time the US economy continues to plod along at a modest to moderate pace and shows some encouraging signs of strengthening.
It could also be that investors are cautiously optimistic, but keeping their eyes and ears open. Let’s hope for the best!
