February 2015 started out with a classic battle on the American football field with Super Box XLIX. The global market place also had many ongoing battles, and several of them have yet to be played out. The recent dramatic drop in oil prices continues to be a major driver. The Eurozone granted Greece a 4 month extension on its loans. The Ukraine/Russia ceasefire is fragile. The Middle East remains unsettled. In the US the government struggled over issues of the Keystone XL Pipeline. There was the funding of the Department of Homeland Security with or without some implications to President Obama’s immigration directives. The Federal Communications Commission approved some controversial net-neutrality regulations. Several major acquisitions were closed. Throughout it all some of the US stock exchanges reached new highs. Annual reports were submitted with mixed results. So, the battles continue. Let’s see what happens as we finish the first quarter of 2015!
