The PBR1000 March 2019 Breaking News Recap

PBR1000 Economy

Forecasters generally agree that the global economy is slowing. Government and corporations are making adjustments, and markets are reacting.

By Larry C. Paxton

The March 2019 News Recap:
Throughout the month the US/China trade negotiations were the most consistent theme, along with concerns over global economic slowing and possible effects on the US, which showed up in the latest GDP numbers. The Federal Open Market Committee kept the short term federal funds rate at 2.25-2.50%. There continue to be repercussions over the recent Boeing 737-MAX 8 airplane crashes in Indonesia and Ethiopia. Midwest floods could have an impact on crop production and there is significant property damage. The Mueller Report, which found no collusion between the Donald Trump campaign and Russia, continues to generate controversy. The Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, could be in jeopardy per a recent court decision and President Trump has said he will come up with a better plan. In Europe the UK Brexit has a new deadline for mid April and the government is in turmoil trying to figure out what to do. Regarding the US stockmarkets, Week 13 was a big win for The Stock Market Bull after having lost Week 12 and having the month be in jeopardy. But he remains unbeaten on a monthly basis and way ahead weekly.
